Our Coaching Staff
Bob Hayes -Director
Bob has been the owner and Head Camp Coach since 2000. He was the Head Age Group Coach of the Toronto Swim Club for 13 years and is currently an elementary school teacher at Kingsway college school. As a swimmer Bob was a National and World Cup medalist. He currently competes as an Ironman Triathlon athlete. As a coach, Bob has produced 10 national and 14 provincial age group records. Most recently Bob's former swimmer Penny Oleksiak won 4 medals at the Rio Olympics including gold. Bob provides a positive and dynamic environment which motivates his athletes to achieve their potential. His passion for this sport is contagious.
Victor Delac, Head Development Coach
Victor was the Head Development coach or the Toronto Swim Club from 1995-2015. He has been leading the Toronto Summer Swim Camp development program since 2005. He is a an elementary school teacher and past Ryerson University Swimming Head Coach. Victor sets a positive and high energy learning environment which motivates his athletes to develop great swimming efficiency and a love for this sport. In addition to his coaching role Victor mentors most of the incoming coaches as they start their coaching career.
Andrea St. Jules, Elite Group Coach
Andrea coaches for the Granite Gators throughout the regular swim season. As a swimmer she represented the Toronto Swim club setting multiple national records while competing. Since joining the Toronto Summer Swim Camp staff Andrea has fostered a love for swimming among our most elite swimmers at the camp.
Leah Russell, 11-15 Coach
Leah has worked at the Toronto Summer Swim camp for several years. During thet time she has coached every age group in our program . She is the current team captain for the McMaster University Swim Team. Her energy and knowledge of our sport is an incredible asset to the program.
Kate Hulford, 5-7 Lead Coach
Kate is in her 2nd year at the Toronto Summer Swim Camp. She is the lead coach for our youngest group and brings a wealth of knowledge to our camp as a distance swimmer in the top group of the Toronto Swim Club. In September she will be attending attending and swimming at the University of Ottawa.
Adam Arafat, 11-15 Age Group Coach
Adam is in his first year at the Toronto Summer Swim Camp. This summer he is responsible for coaching the 11 and over swimmers both club and non cub. He is a member of the Granite Club swim team , will be studying Engineering at Purdue University in September, he plays bass guitar and can fly an airplane.
Ashleigh Arthur, Assistant 7-10 Coach
Ashleigh is in her first year coaching the camp. She works with our 7-10 year old swimmers. Her deep knowledge of our sport comes from her extensive time swimming at the Toronto Swim Club. She is always smiling and the kids love swimming with her. She is off to study and swim at Queen's University this coming September.
Avery Leake, 5-7 Coach
Avery is in her first year coaching the camp. She is a current swimmer in the top group of the Toronto Swim Club. She works with our yougest swimmers at the camp and brings excellent energy and cheer to the whole program.
